Good Morning Messages: A Comparison

My thoughts when I get a “good morning” text from Sir:

Aww hi!  Were you thinking of me?  Did you dream of me?  I was thinking of you too, but I said good morning first yesterday so today it’s your turn.  Oh, this is a game I play that I never told you about.  We’re supposed to trade off.  Do you have anything else you want to say this morning?  It’s ok if you don’t, I know you’re busy.  I’m just glad we’re having this exchange.  You’ve brightened my day already.  I don’t know what else will happen today but I’m already happier.

My thoughts when I get a “good morning” message from a stranger:

Um, hi.  You were thinking of me, I see.  For how long, exactly?  [checks timestamp]  Was it morning when you sent this?  Was I online then?  What timezone are you in?  Is it your morning or my morning?  Are you expecting a conversation out of this?  I assume if I grace you with a reply you’ll come back with something incredibly thoughtful and stimulating.  It’s ok if you don’t, I can tell you don’t have an affinity for these things.  I don’t know what else will happen today but I already feel like I might have a stalker.
